On Saturday, August 17th, the marching band performed their opening number for the first time in front of a crowd of family members and friends. After presentations by the battery, front ensemble, and color guard, the band “officially” took the field to present its opener, entitled “Scheherazade,” which featured sections such as the low brass and color guard. Upon completion of the performance, one final drill down was held in front of the assembly of people, eventually won by senior bass clarinet player Harshita Narang. The band additionally enjoyed a potluck that consisted of student-provided main and side dishes, appetizers, desserts, and drinks, as well as a pool party that lasted the duration of the afternoon.
